Season Inspiration: Winter Wonderland

Season Inspiration: Winter Wonderland

Fall is in full swing, which means Team Enchanted is already busy brainstorming some lovely ideas for the season to come – winter! Summer is typically the favored season for couples to say their I Dos, but winter has a beauty all its own. But how do you create a winter-wonderland for your wedding without it feeling too holiday-cliché?

We love to transform a traditional bouquet by mixing in a few festive favorites – berried branches, a sprig of evergreen, maybe a pinecone or two. Carolin & Alan’s December 2013 nuptials are Exhibit A for a winter wedding done right:

It’s all about the texture, too. We can create a beautiful garland-effect to grace a reception table using caudatus or astilbe, especially in seasonal shades like reds and burgundies. We love this arrangement we did for Jill and Jacob’s Big Day earlier this year and think it could work great for a holiday gathering! (Full recap on this gorgeous wedding coming to the blog next week!)

A nosegay of all-white astilbes, like this gorgeous bouquet from Matthew Robbins Design (image source), is reminiscent of freshly-fallen snow!

We can create a similarly stunning snow-like effect with a bunch of baby’s breath, too, like the floral we did recently for Danielle & Jonathan in September:

Speaking of snow, going all-white with your color palette is a chic and elegant way to celebrate your December I-Dos. Take a look at Morgan and Bob’s luxe winter wedding from last year:
